What I like to day : Healthy Fast food options

Top Favorite: Taco Bell Fresco Menu, great taste, even better than regular Taco Bell items.  Instead of Cheese they add pico de gallo, gives the item a zing.
My favorite is the fresco chrunchy taco.  It is suprisingly lower points on my weight watchers than the soft taco.  Plus you get the crunch factor.  It is a must try! ( Quick and on the go food, also comes in chicken)
Cal: 150 Fat 7 Carb 13 Protein 7 Fiber 3. (ww pts 4)

Another top choice:
Chick-Fil-A Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich

    And lastly

Tips for making healthy choices at fast food restaurants

    • Make careful menu selections – pay attention to the descriptions on the menu. Dishes labeled deep-fried, pan-fried, basted, batter-dipped, breaded, creamy, crispy, scalloped, Alfredo, au gratin or in cream sauce are usually high in calories, unhealthy fats or sodium. Order items with more vegetables and choose leaner meats.
    • Drink water with your meal. Soda is a huge source of hidden calories. One 32-oz Big Gulp with regular cola packs about 425 calories, so one Big Gulp can quickly gulp up a big portion of your daily calorie intake. Try adding a little lemon to your water or ordering unsweetened iced tea.
    • “Undress” your food. When choosing items, be aware of calorie- and fat-packed salad dressings, spreads, cheese, sour cream, etc. For example, ask for a grilled chicken sandwich without the mayonnaise. You can ask for a packet of ketchup or mustard and add it yourself, controlling how much you put on your sandwich.
    • Special order. Many menu items would be healthy if it weren't for the way they were prepared. Ask for your vegetables and main dishes to be served without the sauces. Ask for olive oil and vinegar for your salads or order the dressing "on the side" and spoon only a small amount on at a time. If your food is fried or cooked in oil or butter, ask to have it broiled or steamed.
    • Eat mindfully. Pay attention to what you eat and savor each bite. Chew your food more thoroughly and avoid eating on the run. Being mindful also means stopping before you are full. It takes time for our bodies to register that we have eaten. Mindful eating relaxes you, so you digest better, and makes you feel more satisfied

Hope that helps and enjoy healthy options.  More to come in future blogs.

What I like today - Wendy's Baja Salad

This salad is amazing. I get it without dressing and with out cheese to make it better for you.  But  it also is easy to make at home.  http://www.wendys.com/food/Nutrition.jsp?product_id=389 A mixed green salad, with pico de gallo, quacamole.  You can even get tortilla strips at the store.  Using low fat cheese it makes it lighter in calories and fat.  If you use fresh avacados that can help too.  The zesty spicy flavor of the pico de gallo with the lime/avacado or guacamole it is amazing.  You can make it as spicy or not spicy as you want.

If you go to Wendy's you can get a half size, they always give you a small Chili with it.  Did you know Wendy's Chili is the lowest fat chili at a fast food place?  I hope you try it at Wendy's and then make it at home your way! Would be great sub item for taco night.  Making it your way at home you can control the fat that goes into your salad.  But either way try it!  I tend to get the half size when at Wendy's b/c they use full fat cheese.  But I still have been losing weight eating it.  So enjoy! And we will talk tomorrow~

What I like today : Trader Joes Skinny Fries

Hi everyone. Hope you had a great Friday.  Today's thing I like is simple. Have you ever been trying to watch what you yeat and have such a salt craving and you dont know what to have. The vending machine is calling your name.  Well here is where you should stock up.
Trader Joes is a chain of stores with many unique food items from health foods to organic foods.
My sister and I went to our local Trader Joes In Naperville, IL and near the check out I found Skinny Fries.
You get 65 "fries" straws in a serving.  Basically fills up a sandwich size zip lock bag.  They are coated lightly in sea salt.  It is part of Trader Joe's Reduced Guilt line.  80% less fat than regular chips, no artificial colors or flavors or preservatives.    So if you are looking for an alternative to any chip this is your choice.
Calories 110 Fat 2g Carbs 23 Fiber less than 1 Protien 3.  If you follow Weight Watcher points one serving is 3 points.  I split my serving in two and lasted me most the day.  Really helped my snacking cravings.
It is always amazizng when ingredients on an item  you can list on one hand.    They are air popped and not fried!  Have you ever had the chip called Munchos?  It sort of tastes like that.  A must try item.  And what I like today!  Check out a location near you below to find your very own Skinny Fries!

What I like today - Ted's Montana Grill

Today do I have one of my ultime favorites. My sister and I went to Ted's Montana Grill.  This place is one of my favorite places to eat. Not only is the theme of the place real cool, paper straws, powder soap, all wood like you are home on the range.  But man the food is A---Mazing!
One word BISON.  This is one of the few places you can get pure amazing bison in its purest forms. No additives, no fillers.  Just pure flavor.
I tend to get the Bison burger when I go.
If you are asking me...Bison, why Bison.  Oh come on it isnt scary, it just tastes like really good beef with out the bad things that come with red meat.
    The Benefits of Bison Meat
    • Lean and Healthy
    • Tastes Great
    • Low in Calories, Cholestrol, and Fat
    • High in Protein and Iron
Have you ever been on a diet or watching your cholestorol and can't get the craving for a good steak or burger out of your mind.  This is the place to go~ I mean it.  True good food.  And they have beef or other items for those afraid to try something new.  But I suggest you try the bison.  It will be the best thing you have had in ages, so juicy and tasty.
Real cool about this place, instead of starting with bread they start with fresh made dill pickle slices. Real nice fresh touch.  You can't go wrong on this menu! Bring the kids, they have a great kids menu.  They will love the paper straws. Teds is priced very well, great food and they pride themselves on being Green and eco friendly~  Try out this place I like today!  There is a locator by zip code on the website below.  Try it, you wont be disapointed~

What I like today - SKECHERS Rumblers

Today's topic - THE BEST SANDLES EVER.  I tend to not like shoes or anything between my toes.  I was in the market for new shoes.  And that is when I found these.  The most comfortable, easy to wear, and wonderful shoes that you can find.  Good for the beach, or the office.  I wear these shoes all day and no pain.  Fashion that is comfortable...very hard to come by.  They come in a few varieties, one even has bling on it lol  The ones below are the ones I have.  I believe you could wear these with almost any outfit.  People have noticed that I have worn these every day since I bought them.  Yes when I love something, I use it...as you should!  I might go buy another pair, when you find a great shoe buy two pairs.    Why not fight for comfort~!  Go for it. Right now these are on sale at Shoe Carnival for $29.99.  But you can buy one pair get one half off.  One suggestion I bought them one size bigger than I normally wear.  If your size doesnt fit...try this suggestion!  Hope you enjoy.  And see you tomorrow for what I like today! Take care~
