What I like today: Multi Purpose things # 2

Fabric softner....of course you use it in your laundry but did you know....you can use it to remove pet hair or your hair from carpet?

Take a spray bottle, fill half w/ your liquid fabric softner, then half w/ water.  Spray liberally on carpet, let sit for 5-10 min or longer.  And the pet/human hair comes right up by rubbing w/ a towel.

I have also heard it works by letting dry and then vacuum up.

Try it it will make your money go farther and help you out in more ways than one.

Want more uses for dryer sheets?
Keep bugs away: Tuck some in your picnic basket or under lawn furniture to repel bees from your juicy flesh and encourage them back to the flowers, where they belong. You can also rub a sheet directly on your bare skin to discourage would- be buggers from leaving their mark.

Wipe up hair: The cling of a dryer sheet is perfect to wipe up pet hair from your furniture, or even your own hair from your bathroom.

Repel rodents: Use dryer sheets to keep out mice, skunks, squirrels, rats, etc from your basement, garages, boats, campers, and clubhouses

What I like today: Multi Purpose Things

If you are going to spend your hard earned money try this ladies:

Buy a great conditioner that you would use on your hair.  I tend to buy one that says Moisture.  What else besides hair conditioner?   Shaving cream!  Why spend your money on both a shaving cream or lotion and conditioner for your hair! When you can buy one and use it for both!

Another thing that is a saver of money about the one I use is it is just as good as the expensive salon brands but you get a huge amount for I would say $3-4 vs. $10-20

I tend to buy the Suave brand.  The proffesionals line is great.  They have The one pictured below for moisture.  It helps static, and keeps your hair moisture rich.  Then use it as a shaving cream and boy your legs stay smooth!  Try it out and let me know what you think.

What I like today: Saving money # 4

Want to save money on a trip? I have done plenty of research on vacations, I mean months and months just for 1 trip lol
The best sites I have found are:

Most reliable for low price and secure transactions:
http://travelb.priceline.com/  Priceline.com has great deals for vacation packages.  And is very good for last minute deals. Make sure you look up the price breaker deals.

Real cool for trips to Vegas:
http://www.tripres.com/
This is where I have found great deals on air and hotel to Vegas. Not real good for any other vacation that I have found yet.

Tips on searching for a discount or innexpensive vacation with giving up quality.
1. Always sort by review first and amount of stars as last resort.  What the people think of a place is way more important than what stuffed shirts think lol
2. Sort by price and always combo hotel, air and car if you need it.
3. Look at more than one site
4. big tip...BIG TIP the websites compute how many times a day people search for a specific trip.  Only look once a week.  Or price will raise up.  They do raise the price if they see you want something.
5. DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT give up what you want. You can find a great vacation, hotel or cruise for a great price. It is like finding a mate, dont settle!

What I like today: Saving Money #1

I find this deal pretty good in this economy.  Does your Wal-Mart have its own gas station? If it does you pretty much know that Wal-Mart already has pretty good pricing on gas.  But did you know if you buy a gas card or gift card while you are at the Wal-Mart store, and then use it at their gas station you get the credit card gas price which is $.10 cheaper every time.  So like I did yesterday was I bought $30 gas/gift card at Wal-Mart and then swung over to the gas station on my way home and used it as my payment (works like a credit card at the pump) and I got $.10 off a gallon.  No extra charge, nor did I have to earn points like some other chains do to get money off the pump.

Easy way to save money.

This week I will advise you of the best, easiest ways to save money, time or effort!~

Hope you enjoy.

What I like today: The Marriage Ref

One of my favorite shows is on  Sunday nights. Lately it has been on at 8 and 9 cst.  If you have ever thought you and your sigificant other had issues or arguments that are the big ones.  This show will show you that these couples on the show have bigger, funnier issues than you.  Or you decide you should be on the show lol.

http://www.nbc.com/the-marriage-ref/

As stated on the NBC website

About the Show

Jerry Seinfeld is back and in the producer's chair for an all-new and improved second season of "The Marriage Ref."
In this funny and revealing comedy panel series, real-life married couples take center stage as their quirky, funny and relatable disputes are explored, examined - and ultimately judged. For the sophomore run of "The Marriage Ref," couples will appear in-studio and face a panel of "experts" composed of top celebrities and comedians who will weigh in and decide which spouse is right. The goal is to give couples something they have always wanted but have never had - a clear winner.
At the end of each episode, the studio audience will vote to make one of the winners "The Rightest of the Right." These winners will receive $25,000 and their very own billboards, in their hometowns, declaring they are right.
Comedian Tom Papa ("The New Adventures of Old Christine," "The Informant!") is back in the center of the action where he serves as the host and the "ref." Papa was personally chosen by Seinfeld for this role.

Check it out!  Worth it, I mean I really laugh out loud.  The stars on the show who help make the judgment are so funny.  There are singers, comedians, actors.  It is great.

I hope you like it! Laughter is the best medicine!

I must have tried on dozens of pairs of gym shoes when I was looking for a new pair.  For me it is a pain when I need new gymshoes.  It is sort of like swimsuit shopping, when you finally find a good one you want to buy a few of them and wear them all out.
After returning a few pairs that felt good in the store these were the winners.
They are light on my feet, cool to look at and feels like I have air cushions under my feet.
I am able to do so much more walking in these.   Try a pair on walk around the store.  I bet you will like them!

What I like today: House smelling like cookies

Ever wanted to make your house smell like you are baking cookies? Ever not want to spend extra money on candles or sprays? Or not want to bake cookies to make your house smell good?
Well here is a tip that I learned from the movie Friends With Benifits.
Fold a sheet of aluminum foil almost into a bowl (where there are edges)  pour some vanilla extract onto the foil. Turn on your oven and place aluminum foil into oven.  Once oven is heated open and close the door a couple times.  Then turn off oven and let it sit there for a little bit till cool. I mean so awesome! My house smells great and it was with stuff I already had in the house.
Try it out!  Just keep an eye on it, it does evaporate so don't let it burn.
Let me know what you think.

    What I like today: Q101.com

When I heard they were turning the Local  Chicago Alternative Radio Station Q101 into an all talk/news station. I was like...what, you have to be kidding me.  There are no other stations like this one.
There are rock, there are pop rock, there is 60s/70s stations but no alternative stations.  Not cool.
I was happy to hear you can still stream q101 on q101.com.

You can hear some of the good alternative bands and my favorites
    Mumford & sons
    The black keys
    Muse
    Cage the Elephant
    Middle Class Rut

and others like  Alter Bridge, Bad City, Cake, Chevelle, Danko Jones, Finger Eleven, Five Finger Death Punch, Greek Fire, Hail the Villain, Hellyeah, Middle Class Rut, My Chemical Romance, Sick Puppies

If you are like me and don't have satalite radio and you want to listen to good alternative music.  This is the thing for you!  Check it out.  There are commercials like radio but still a good alternative (get it) to satalite or the new talk radio on the old Q101.

    Hope you like it!

What I like today: Hot In Cleveland

Do you miss the time where there were good sitcoms? Do you have tvland?  Hot In Cleveland is the show for you.  Funny, witty and actually entertaining.  Betty White, enough said!  She is one funny woman. She makes the show but the entire cast is great.

    Betty White as Elka Ostrovsky
Jane Leeves as Joy Scroggs.... you know she was Frasier.
Wendie Malick as Victoria Chase ... she was in Just Shoot Me!
Valerie Bertinelli as Melanie Moretti - One Day at a Time fame (also was married to Eddie Van Halen)

Hot in Cleveland revolves around three fabulous L.A. women of a certain age who are best friends (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick). Their lives are changed forever when their plane -- headed to Paris for a girls-only celebration -- unexpectedly lands in Cleveland and they soon rediscover themselves in a new 'promised land'. Loving their new home, the women find themselves living under one roof and battling the sassy caretaker (Betty White) of the property they have rented.

This is a must see show it will leave you in stitches.  Catch up by renting the disks on Netflix.  The outtakes are the best!
    Watch this show~
    Have fun...live life~!

What I like today: Clothes Mentor

Let me tell you one of my all time favorite places to shop and save is the Clothes Mentor.  This is great for women of all shapes, sizes, ages.  Owned by the same company that owns Plato's Closet.
Clothes Mentor buys lightly used name brand clothes, purses, shoes, and accessories to resell.
It is amazing because we can still look like we shop on the Mag Mile and Still have money left over to go out in our new threads.  Men will like this too because we save money!  And can still look good~
And if you are in need of money, bring in you Name brand stuff and sell it. You don't get alot of money but it is a few bucks in your pocket.
Ladies if you are looking for name brand Maternity clothes this is your place.  Pea in the Pod and Motherhood included.   My sister and friends swear by this place ofr Maternity clothes. Why spend an arm and a leg if the only thing growing is your belly?  And it is only for  a short amount of time.

Clothes Mentor  buy and sell  womens clothing sizes 0-26, maternity, shoes, handbags, accessories, & designer perfumes. They look at purchasing tops, blazers, coats, dresses, skirts, shorts, capris, jeans, pants, shoes, jewelry, & belts.  As well are looking for items that are in great condition and that are current to stores in the last 1-2 years.

I love finding shoes and purses here.  You have to dig for shirts and pants but these are great finds too.

Sunglasses are cheap too.  But the key thing here is it is inexpensive not cheap.  That is the thing to remember you will look like a million bucks from head to toe with out spending a million bucks.

Go online and find a store near you.  Have fun..and remember to live life!

What I like today - Hollywood Blvd/Palms theaters

This one is located in IL for those out of state people I am sure there is something in your area too.  What a better idea than a place where you can watch a movie, and are served food and drinks!
Hollywood Blvd is in Woodridge, IL and Hollywood Palms is in Naperville, IL.
Pricing on tickets is pretty good too $6 before prime movie time and $8 for night movies.  And you just need to purchase one thing inside the movie, but I never have an issue choosing one item.
Things ranging from Lord of the Onion Rings, Potato Munch Skins, The Chuck Norris Chicken sandwich, Grinch Dip...you name it. They have a full bar selection menu as well as usual Movie snacks such as popcorn and candy.  Cool thing is your server brings things to you as they are done.
Another great thing is you sit in high back leather executive chairs and there is a bench style table in front of you.  Each movie theater is stadium seating and every theater has its own theme. And they do not skimp on the decorations, one room is Muppets, Wizard of Oz, Disney you name it. Pretty cool.
If you are sick of the same old movie scene this is for you!   They have daily specials:
    • Monday
Half price buckets of ice cold domestic beer.
Six bottles of your favorite brew packed in ice.
    • Tuesday
Half price pitchers of margaritas and long island iced teas.
Half the price, twice the fun.
    • Wednesday
$3 regular admission and $6 3D admission with your valid photo College Student ID.
    • Thursday
All rat pack classic martinis are just $5.
    • Friday
      Buy your gift cards today!
    • Weekend
$3 regular admission and $6 3D admission for seniors(65 and older) to the first matinee of the day (only).
And check out their website and get on their mailing list.  You could get invited to sneak peaks or previews.  They also advertise when stars come to their theater. But beware this does cost a pretty penny to get close to them.

Make sure you sign up for the birthday club when you go in, around your birthday they send you via email a coupon for a free movie admission for you and your friends.  You just have to buy food and stuff when you get in.

Also with every ticket you buy you get a green coupon good Sun-Thurs for buy one get one ticket free on your next visit. Good for a month after you originally went.

Check this place out! It is pretty darn cool.  This place is kid friendly
Those under the age of 18 must always be accompanied by and seated with a responsible adult regardless of the MPAA rating.  Children under 4 years of age will not be permitted in any R rated film after 6:00pm.

Plan to arrive 20-40 minutes prior to show time. They do seat on a first come, first served basis so naturally the earlier you arrive, the greater selection of seats you will enjoy.   They usually start seating 20 min before movie time.  But they do line up.

What I like today: Splenda essentials

SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener, also known as sucralose, is a no-calorie sweetener that can be reduce the calories and carbohydrate from sugar that you consume.
As stated on the Splenda webist  Splenda is made through a patented process that starts with sugar and converts it to a no-calorie, non-carbohydrate sweetener.
They also says something real cool:  After you eat SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener, it passes through the body without being broken down for energy, so the body does not recognize it as a carbohydrate.

I use Splenda with fiber, each little packet has 1 gram of fiber in it.  With most diets these days they want you to eat a high fiber diet and this adds to my healthy lifestyle.  It has a great taste and as an example. A large Mcdonalds coffee I used ot use 5 sugars, now I only ask for 2 splenda.
In my coffee at a diner, I used to use 3-4 packets of sugar, now only use 1 packet of splenda.
Other options are ones infused w/ Vitimin B or antioxidents and one with Antioxidant vitamins C and E.

There are many ways this product is used, in baking, cooking, in coffee or tea , on fruit or sprinkled on other foods.  There are many ways this product is better than sugar or other sweatners.

There is no funky aftertaste, and why not get fiber, or vitimins while you are at it! Try it out.  And have a great day!

On the website there are stories, health and wellness tips, recipes,  and help/support for  people w/ Diabetes.
    Pretty cool!

What movies I like today: Crazy, Stupid, Love

    Crazy, Stupid, Love

    PG_13  118 min  -  Comedy | Drama | Romance
Steve Carell, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and Julianne Moore star in one of the best movies of the summer. This was not a movie I was really thinking about going to see.  But a friend wanted to see it so I did. I am so glad we went. One of the best movies begining to end I have seen in ages.  Funny, smart, comedy with soul.
It does have a range of emotions.  Most of which is laughter and happiness.  But there are some parts that tug at your heart strings.  I find this to be a great sign that the movies plot sucked you in and you have fell in love with the characters.
Steve Carell is as funny as ever, and this was a perfect roll for him.  Physical comedy as well as sincere ability to show emotion.
Ryan Gosling what can I say num num num.  Great actor, great looks. I hadn't ever seen him in anything before b/c his usual work is too sappy for me.  This was a perfect roll for him to be in to maybe get more fans.  Again...wow (he takes his shirt off) wow.
Emma Stone is one of my favorite actresses since I saw her in Easy A.  She is a tough actress with skill.  She has a great career ahead of her.
This movie bring some newcomers too.
Please check out this movie! It has heart...and will get yours!  It will make you laugh out loud too.  I mean there are twists and turns as well.  You wont be bored or sorry you saw this.  Let me know what you think!

    Synopsis as found on
Movie Synopsis: At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream--good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his "perfect" life quickly unravels. Worse, in today's single world, Cal, who hasn't dated in decades, stands out as the epitome of un-smooth. Now spending his free evenings sulking alone at a local bar, the hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protege to handsome, thirtysomething player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). In an effort to help Cal get over his wife and start living his life, Jacob opens Cal's eyes to the many options before him: flirty women, manly drinks and a sense of style that can't be found at Supercuts or The Gap. Cal and Emily aren't the only ones looking for love in what might be all the wrong places: Cal's 13-year-old son, Robbie, is crazy about his 17-year-old babysitter, Jessica, who harbors a crush on Cal. And despite Cal's makeover and his many new conquests, the one thing that can't be made over is his heart, which seems to keep leading him back to where he began.

    What I like today - Website #3

Today's website that I love is Vistaprint. I visit this site for all of my printing needs.  From business cards, to address labels, to shirts, hats, bags, pens, Calendars and much, much more.
I do suggest going to google first and putting in search Vistaprint coupons or discounts.  I have found free shipping, to discounts to free items added to your order.
Previous things that I have done are family pictures in a calendar (makes great gifts), I made Personalized magnets for party favors, and made tote bags for gifts.  You can design your own item or use templates they have alreayd made.  For business or personal use this is a must use site~!  I have already received a large magnet, address label, pen, and some business cards for free~ yes I said Free....
What are you waiting for....go on get your Print on~~!!
I have attached a few examples of wha I had them print for me....only a few examples I use this site alot~

    What I like today - Website # 2

Today's website that I love to visit is WebMD Symptom checker. Besides this function, the site also has many informative news articles about health, and getting heatlhy.  But the symptom checker is an interactive point and click function that you can localize to what part of the body is ailing you. And then choose symptoms and narrow down possible issues or illnesses.  Then once you choose what you think it might be that you have it tells you symptoms, how to heal/cure and when to see a doctor.
This is great for young and old alike.  It does tell you when it is serious and go seek medical help.   Use common sense though.  If a bone is popping out your arm...you don't need a website to tell you that it is broken and you need medical assistance lol.
If you need medical advise or suggestions this site is great!  They have doctors write articles and stories that they post to the site.  The site also has diet and health suggestions, parenting and pregnancy help and much much more.  Check out symptom checker and the rest of WebMD...it will be a great tool to use in every day life!  Take care and be well~

This week : What websites I like today!~

Today's favorite website I like is very informative. http://www.indeed.com/
This site I suggest to all my friends and family who are looking for jobs.  It searches all over the web, from hotjobs to career builder to ebay jobs.  It also posts from direct companies, head hunters, and staffing agencies.  I like this b/c you can narrow it down by where, what, how much and how soon.  You dont need to sign up on each site to search.  Just go on the site, enter information of what you are looking for and I suggest narrow down by previous 7 or 3 days.  Most places fill jobs or wont look at people who didn't find them right away.   It is one of the best sites out there and can help anyone find a job!  All careers, all jobs can be found here.  Part time to full time to internships.  Try out this site! This is the most useful job search engine out there! Don't waste your time anywhere else!  Also if you own a business you can  post your job opening here too.  Hope you find your luck here~
